Referral Marketing and Domain Names
Domain names make your
sponsoring site unique and they also provide other advantages.
You may have noticed that my
BidForMyMeds [BFMM] sponsoring site has a link name of www.BidWebRx.com
This is a domain name I
purchased from www.WizWebWorks.com for
around $12/yr to use on marketing material. It is forwarded to my BFMM website:
www.sunhutch.bidformymeds.com
…
The succinct form of the
domain name [URL] helps people remember it if reading it on printed
material and also makes it easier to enter if they are typing in the link in the
address bar of their computer.
Once your domain name has
populated the search engines, whenever someone searches for a key word or your domain
name, it will turn up in the results for the search.
After you purchase your
domain, you will be able to set up forwarding to any web-page you choose. You
may also wish to mask the page, which simply means your new domain name stays
in the address bar in the browser screen. I chose not to do that so people can
see both my full name at the top right of the BFMM sponsoring page and also see
my sponsoring ID in the address.
If you choose to use you
sponsor link without getting your own unique domain name, then I suggest that
you make the username as memorable as possible.
